Everything here is to help you plan well and arrive prepared. Below are the questions we're asked most often - on permits, fitness, terrain, seasons, and how bookings work.

Male Sika (Stags): 1 August – 30 April
Female (Hinds)/Antlerless Sika: 1 November – 31 March
All visiting hunters must comply with Irish firearms regulations. We provide complete guidance during your booking: your location, rifle type, and experience level determine the permit requirements. Most countries' hunters can arrange permits within 4-6 weeks. We begin the process immediately upon booking to ensure smooth arrival. Rifle available on request.
Wicklow terrain is genuinely varied: open mountain, forestry edges, moorland, stream valleys, and occasionally agricultural ground. Elevation ranges from sea-level foothills to 800m+ mountainside. Terrain is uneven, often steep, occasionally boggy. You'll cross varied ground daily, sometimes covering significant distance. Fitness and mental preparation are essential. It's real free-range stalking across mixed Wicklow terrain, not manicured park hunting.
Moderate to good fitness is recommended. Days involve sustained walking across hill ground, often with elevation gain, variable terrain underfoot, and sometimes challenging weather. If you're concerned about fitness, discuss this during booking—we'll help you prepare and may adjust the pace of the trip. Most hunters of reasonable health complete trips successfully with honest preparation.
Completely. All Sika deer are wild and free-range, hunted across non-fenced private ground in Wicklow. Terrain includes mountain, forestry, moorland and valleys. There are no guarantees, no artificial advantages, no fenced enclosures. Outcomes are genuinely uncertain, which is what makes stalking meaningful. That's our whole point: we provide access to real hunting on real ground.
Autumn (August–October) brings the rut, when stags are vocal and active. This offers excellent opportunities for stalking mature animals and hearing their calls across valleys. Winter and spring (November–April) offer different hunting: quieter deer, more challenging stalking, but consistent opportunities. Cull hunts run November–March with high activity. Peak season (September–October) fills early. Contact us with your preferred timeframe and we'll discuss which season suits your goals best.
Dublin Airport is approximately 100km from our hunting ground, usually less than 90 minutes by road. Airport transfer is available for €300 per group.
Yes. We regularly host pairs and small groups. Several packages are structured specifically for group bookings, with group pricing available - contact us for details.
No. We hunt free-range, non-fenced Wicklow ground. Hill, forestry and agricultural transitions are part of what makes the hunting here real and rewarding.
Send your preferred dates, number of hunters and target package through the contact page, email or WhatsApp. We confirm availability, advise on the best fit and guide you through the next steps.
Yes. We can refer you to a dedicated taxidermy partner and explain the practical export paperwork needed for your destination country. Requirements vary by country, so we discuss this early in the booking process.
